"What is the City But the People?" A Film Screening and workshop to explore how communities in Manchester can join together to achieve higher levels of social rent housing delivery (www.socialhomes4mcr.org.uk):

The Untold Stories of Manchester's Housing Crisis
Did you know that there are now over 20,000 households on the waiting list for a social rented home in the city of Manchester alone? Social Homes for Manchester is a new coalition of community organisations and charities who are joining together to do their bit to address the crisis. Together, they are asking all ward councillors across the city to pledge their support for a new target of 30% social rent homes to be included in all new housing developments of ten homes or above.
Join us for a film screening of their community reporter documentary "What is the City but the People?" at Crumpsall Methodist Church 6-8pm on Wednesday 23rd July when you can meet members of the coalition and hear from people directly affected by the housing crisis. We hope that Crumpsall ward councillors will join us so we can discuss how the Crumpsall community can come together and do our bit to address the crisis. Please visit www.socialhomes4mcr.org.uk to find out more.
